Representative of NY's 2nd district in congress, Steve Israel (D) won. :D 2. NY Senate 2nd district, John Flanagan (R) won :C 3. NY Assembly 9th district, Andrew Raia (R) won :C 4. Dems succeeded in finally getting a majority in NY State Senate :D 5. Local thing funding neighboerhood improvements (parks etc.), and supporting clean energy thing passed :D And now for things that dont really effect me but I was following anyway. 6. California's Prop. 8 to ban gay marriage passed :C 7. Arizona's Prop. 102 to ban gay marriage passed :C 8. Arkansas' Initiative 1 to bar gay couples from adopting passed :C 9. Florida's Ammendment 2 to ban gay marriage passed :C 10. Colorado's Ammendment 48 to define human life from the moment of conception did not pass :D 11. South Dakota's Initiative 11 to restrict abortion with few exception did not pass :D 12. Massachusetts' Question 2 to decriminalize possession of up to 1 oz. or marijuana passed :D 13. Michigan's Prop. 1 to allow medical marijuana patients to use and grow their own marijuana passed :D 14. I’m not interested in meth, and if I were I wouldn’t let its legal status stop me, although it along with all the other recreational drugs should be legalized. [03] Abortion: for or against it? For it. Based on my current knowledge of human development, I draw the line at approximately 30 weeks with exceptions for later times. [04] Do you think the world would fail with a female president? Wih Palin, yes. A woman in general I don’t see how there would be a problem. [05] Do you believe in the death penalty? Never. State sponsored violence is inherently worse than what is done by some nut-job. [06] Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already? Yes. See my answer to #2. There is the issue of personal freedom, then the economic reasons to legalize. Also I’m not too fond of the fact that we are even beating China in number of prisoners, many of whom are only there for marijuana possession. [07] Are you for or against premarital sex? For it. [08] Do you believe in God? Not even slightly. [09] Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized? Of coarse it should. [10] Do you think it's wrong that so many Hispanics are illegally moving to the USA? Yes, illegal immigration is a problem; I think improving legal immigration could significantly reduce this problem however. [11] A twelve year old girl has a baby, should she keep it? I’d say if she wants to keep it and her parents are willing to help raise it, she should have it, otherwise she should abort it. [12] Should the alcohol age be lowered to eighteen? There shouldn’t be an alcohol age, anyone who wants a drink should be able to get one. [13] Should the war in Iraq be called off? Yes. [14] Assisted suicide is illegal: do you agree? Nope. You know, a part of me really wishes that this rumor I heard about the bible describing the Antichrist as Obama were true. It would make voting for him even more fun but alas, snopes ruined my fun. I was really hoping that I could vote for the antichrist. That and Islam really wasn't founded until centuries after the bible was written. And while Barack's father was raised a Muslim, he was an atheist by the time he and Barack's mother met. So really going by inheriting religion, I would be more a christian than Barack would be a muslim as I was raised christian and for a while believed it, thankfully I came to my senses. Barack wasn't even raised muslim. Oh and my sister is in the high school band so she was in the parade today. After this parade there is a lot of booths set up in the park with local politicians campaigning (and giving out free cookies) some people selling stuff, and there was this hilarious booth sponsored by some church to oppose abortion and they were giving out little plastic fetuses so I took one home with me, I consider that my charitable act for the day because I let them think I agreed with them so I could get their tacky toy.
